No, you don't get an epilogue. You don't need to see ten years in the future where all the characters are married and happy and have a brood of sickeningly sweet children. You don't even need to see a dead parent come back to life, give some emotional closure via exposition that totally didn't make me openly weep, then keel over and die again. This is the note you end on. Make of it what you will.
Even after everything that's happened, Ruby is still as kind and hopeful as ever. Here's hoping her future will be brighter than her past. For a comic this bleak, I thing a poignant ending like this to be very fitting--it's good to know there's still hope after all.
